Not a lot to say about this leg of the trip except it was uphill like the whole way. It was so bad that we came up with the motto for the day, "It's All uphill from here"! I know, SUPER Original.
Except for the last part to the hotel. Before we got to the hotel, on the way down the street, there was this incredible sculpture of horses close to the center of the city. Called....Os Cabalos, or "The Horses" in English.
We had stopped to stare and take pictures and had been talking about why there would be a ginormous sculpture of horse when a woman carrying what looked like groceries stopped and asked where we were from. We explained we were form the US and then she then took time from her day to explain that the horses were very important to Vigo. One time a year all the strong men (Her words) would go into the mountains to round up the wild horses and bring them to Vigo. They would groom the horses and tag them and then send them back to the mountains. The lady was super kind and kept welcoming us to Vigo. We felt bad that she was carrying groceries while explaining so much to us. I had thought about helping with her groceries, but knowing my luck I'd trip, tumble downhill and ruin her dinner plans. So yeah I didn't do that. But this lady was really sweet to us. Which was pretty cool.
Until next time, stay outta trouble, and if you can't do that. Don't get caught.
